At National Decision Support Company (NDSC) we understand that healthcare leaders are looking for strategic, system-wide solutions for improvement. We also understand that you need consistently reliable standards to track costs and quality.
Electronic health record (EHR) systems with CareSelect™ can help systems improve their performance. In fact, our solutions in your EHR can deliver real, tangible results:
As the leader in solutions that deliver medical guidelines to the point of care through EHR systems, NDSC offers you a history of trust and leadership.
- We are trusted by the nation’s leading health providers to convey their content through our solutions. We are also the preferred vendor for EHRs including Epic and Cerner.
- We are respected for our precise advisories and implementation speed which promote physician adoption and overcome objections to other CDS that lead to misuse and inefficacy.
- The number of industry leaders that make up our client base validates our strength.
What make NDSC’s CareSelect™ so effective?
Our content is exclusive. Simply put, you will not find it anywhere else. NDSC’s robust content sets are developed and regularly updated by leading medical specialty societies and respected content sources such as the American College of Radiology and Mayo Clinic, and include guidelines from ABIM Foundation’s Choosing Wisely®.
Our platform rapidly integrates with existing EHR infrastructure and offers:
a. Seamless integration – A native ability to adapt to the physician workflow without any disruption.
b. Precision Advisories – Physicians are tired of alerts all the time. Our platform is rules-based and provides only the right information at the right time to relieve alert-fatigue. Bad alerts are replaced with extremely precise advisories, providing data to drive significant improvements in patient care.
c. Speed to implementation – On average, it takes an IT team 6-9 months to create a new rule. CareSelect™ can load 15,000 rules in a month – making our speed to implementation ability unlike any other.
NDSC’s management services are an integral part of the program. Your dedicated implementation team and customer success team allows you access to additional value-added analytics and services that provides your management team with the data they need to pursue performance improvement measures.
CareSelect™ has system-wide potential and includes solutions for Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy, and Blood ordering. The entire suite of NDSC capabilities enables organizations to use their own assets to access and apply data gained through their CDS as a powerful change management tool. The result? Consistently reliable standards; reduced variation of care; rapid, seamless integration; and the data to improve performance. Together, these factors lead to better patient care, better population health, better provider efficiency and lower cost of care.
NDSC was recently acquired by Change Healthcare (CHC).
Over the past year-and-half, Change Healthcare’s InterQual® team has worked with NDSC to utilize its CareSelect™ technology platform to deliver InterQual content in an initiative called InterQual AutoReview™. The goal of this relationship was to streamline the utilization management and authorization processes, which today are labor intensive, redundant, and expensive.
As the working relationship progressed, we recognized synergies in culture and opportunities to further combine our technologies, strengths, and solutions to fulfill our mission of bringing evidence-based content to the point-of-care, leveraging clinical data, to improve the quality of care and control costs in healthcare.
The Change Healthcare portfolio includes assets relevant to authorization, and a footprint across the Software and Analytics division representing over 4,000 providers, 300 payers, and 2,100 payer connections. When coupled with NDSC’s provider footprint in over 350 healthcare organizations and 3000 facilities, and InterQual AutoReview, Change Healthcare will be uniquely positioned to re-invent a process which today is expensive, inefficient, and disjointed from the provider workflow.
