ACR Select is a comprehensive, national standards based, clinical decision support database comprising over 3,000 clinical scenarios and 15,000 criteria. The platform provides evidence-based decision support for the appropriate utilization of all medical imaging procedures. More than 300 volunteer physicians, representing over 20 radiology and non-radiology specialty organizations, participate on the ACR AC expert panels to continuously update these nationally transparent guidelines, and provide real-time access to the latest medical imaging decision support.
As the a trusted partner The American College of Radiology (ACR), numerous nationally recognized clinical content sources and EMR vendors, National Decision Support Company (NDSC) has established the industry standard for implementation of Clinical Decision Support for medical imaging.
The National Standard for Imaging CDS Criteria
Created over 25 years by thousands of physicians, representing more than 20 medical specialty societies, reviewing over 6500 discrete pieces of evidence. The process to author these criteria exceeds the rigor specified by CMS in PAMA for Provider Led Entities to author qualified AUC. The ACR’s AUC has been the standard for virtually ever payer-driven utilization and quality management program for the last 20 years. These criteria are the market-validated gold standard.
Powering PAMA Compliance
The ACR Appropriateness Criteria provides the most comprehensive set of structured indications and AUC to enable full compliance with all aspects of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA). Comprehensive coverage, including all Priority Clinical Areas outlined by CMS, ensures that providers find the correct clinical question for every advanced imaging exam. This ensures that providers are accessing and viewing all required AUC and that a payable claim is always generated.
Imaging decision support, powered by ACR Select, not only satisfying regulatory requirements, but enables more appropriate imaging, a reduction in care variation, creates opportunities for benchmarking and establishes a platform to create positive impact across the care continuum.
The Foundation of CareSelect Imaging™
ACR Select forms the foundation of NDSC’s CareSelect Imaging to deliver the market standard decision support solution for advanced imaging. CareSelect Imaging expands on the ACR Select Platform to deliver a comprehensive range of Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for diagnostic imaging in both adult and pediatric patient populations. AUC is sourced from qualified Provider Led Entities (qPLE), including the American College of Radiology, the American College of Cardiology, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® to ensure compliance with the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (PAMA).
