Clinical Decision Support Services Specialist

National Decision Support Company is currently seeking full-time Epic experts as Clinical Decision Support Services Specialists to work on our Enhanced Services team. The ideal candidate has certification in an Epic clinical application as well as project management experience in a clinical setting. The candidate should be able to able to operate in a fast paced, dynamic, and challenging environment, and be excited to work in and help define a new area of our business.

This team helps our customers with their decision support initiatives by direct engagement with customer leadership and project stakeholders, measurement and analysis of current state using both NDSC and Epic analytics tools, training and build support, advising on change management and project engagement, and monitoring of outcomes.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Work with customer leadership and CDS stakeholders as their primary contact for their CDS implementation, including onsite as necessary
  • Evaluate client’s CDS workflows and metrics using CareSelect and Epic data to determine their level of usability, appropriateness, effectiveness, and provider satisfaction
  • Provide recommendations for using both Epic and CareSelect to improve provider satisfaction, adoption, and compliance of CDS initiatives
  • Provide recommendations to achieve better patient outcomes while reducing clinical variability and reimbursement problems
  • Provide build support for Epic and CareSelect to implement the CDS initiatives
  • Monitor outcomes, recommend and implement adjustments as necessary
Required Experience
  • Epic certification in a clinical application, or experience as a clinician using Epic
  • Experience working with management and project leadership to manage change in a clinical setting
  • Epic build experience
Required Skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Understanding of healthcare industry and IT
  • Experience working in Epic applications, has seen at least one full-cycle implementation
  • Understanding of clinical workflows
Preferred
  • Experience with multiple Epic implementations
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools
  • Familiarity with physician billing and/or prior authorization processes
  • Experience using reporting data to identify opportunities and make recommendations for change
