Integration of CareSelect Imaging™, the MEDITECH Supported Solution for imaging decision support, enables provider compliance with the Protecting Access to Medicare Act
Madison, WI (Feb. 20, 2017) – National Decision Support Company (NDSC) announces its collaboration with MEDITECH to integrate the company’s CareSelect Imaging platform within the full range of MEDITECH EHR solutions. This formal agreement sets the technical foundation for MEDITECH sites, through a directly supported integration, to access NDSC’s CareSelect Imaging Clinical Decision Support Mechanism through the MEDITECH EHR.
MEDITECH chose to work directly with and support the integration of NDSC’s mechanism, which enables provider compliance with CMS requirements outlined in the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 to consult Appropriate Use Criteria when ordering advanced imaging tests for Medicare patients. MEDITECH clients can now access the most comprehensive range of qualified Appropriate Use Criteria for diagnostic imaging on the market.
“Leading EHR vendors and health systems nationwide trust CareSelect Imaging to provide a complete solution to the requirements of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act and to power imaging stewardship programs,” said Michael Mardini, CEO, NDSC. “MEDITECH’s decision to work with NDSC will create positive impact across their large network of customer sites.”
CareSelect Imaging delivers a comprehensive set of imaging Appropriate Use Criteria and indications, featuring all medical specialty societies approved as qualified Provider-Led Entities by CMS. CareSelect Imaging includes criteria from the American College of Cardiology, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and features our foundational criteria from the American College of Radiology. With 15,000 clinical end points, NDSC’s comprehensive criteria coverage ensures Appropriate Use Criteria are available for all advanced imaging orders This satisfies the CMS requirement for consultation for all advanced diagnostic imaging and provides complete coverage of the growing list of Priority Clinical Areas initially established by CMS.
Clinical Decision Support solutions powered by NDSC are the preferred choice of leading EHR vendors and health systems nationwide. Over 250 health systems, including over 2000 discrete acute care facilities, use NDSC solutions to power their imaging decision support programs. NDSC currently processes over 3 million decision support interactions every month.
