Services & Analytics
Our analytics tools, clinical standards, EHR integration capabilities, and expert advisors enable you to identify care variation and enable data-driven population health and quality initiatives.
CareSelect’s analytic capabilities measure provider performance against clinical standards, assess individual provider care patterns, and uncover the causes of provider alert fatigue. Powerful data is the centerpiece in enacting meaningful change management for your practice.
Physician Advisors, Certified Build Services, and Program Managers support your transition to high-value care by ensuring expertise, resources, and people are available for your unique needs. Our services will help to interpret data, tailor care models to fit local best practice, and optimize CareSelect within your EHR.
Our services and analytics identify ineffective clinical decision support (CDS) alerts, reduce alert burden on providers, identify waste, and address care variation.
CDS Optimization
Addressing CDS alert fatigue is the key to provider engagement. Studies have reported alert override rates of between 48 and 94% depending on the specific alert.
Depending on how they’re implemented, provider advisories can simultaneously be the most useful and most harmful tools within the electronic health record (EHR) framework. Too many advisories, displayed at the wrong times, can lead to alert fatigue and physician burnout.
- CPOE systems generate warnings for 3%–6% of all orders that are entered
- One-third of clinical reminders were repeats for the same patient within the same year
- Providers become desensitized to high-volume CDS alerts; interaction dropped by 43% over the first 3 months as providers are exposed to the same alert over time
The intention behind implementing clinical alerts is to improve patient care and help providers, but if implemented without proper alignment, alerts can have the inverse effect. Providers are overwhelmed with low-value advisories resulting in less focus on patient care and more attention paid to completing documentation, ignoring the information provided in an alert in favor of expediency.
CareSelect provides the framework to quantify efficacy via financial and clinical impact across the enterprise while accounting for the cost to provider workflows. The CareSelect analytics toolset identifies where precision CDS will have largest impact with lightest effect to the practice.
CareSelect enables precision guideline delivery by calibrating CDS from data-generated insights. Advisories contributing to physician burnout can be decommissioned or optimized by our clinical teams for precision delivery through CareSelect.

We then study and report on care variation against our entire set of clinical standards , which cross multiple services lines and include quality and population health measures. During this process, there are no changes to workflows.
Advisories are configured for clinical services where there is the most potential for savings, and we engage providers to reinforce change. Our analytics tools continue to support the process to measure engagement with the system, and benchmark provider interactions against peers and a national cohort stored in our registry.
